[IMAGINE AWESOME ASCII ART HERE] SWEDISH EMERGENCY SERVICES UNIFORMS v1.0 Calaniman, Aug 30th, 2012 ================= ABOUT ================= SWEDISH EMERGENCY SERVICES UNIFORMS v1.0 is a mod for Grand Theft Auto 4â„¢ that let's you change the textures/skins of the police and EMS personnel in Liberty City from the original ones to textures based on Swedish Emergency Services. This message brought to you by Captain Obvious® - He's got what readme's crave.â„¢ Also this is the first time I've released a mod to the public (for any game) so I will just sit back in my Viking chair and sip on some Viking Beer and watch the 10/10's roll in. Seriously though please complain as much as you can so I know what to work on. ================= FEATURES ================= 13 unique police officer uniforms and 1 medic outfit based on Swedish agencies. - 5 "fatcop" outfits - 2 F.I.B. outfits - 4 "cop" outfits - 1 "traffic cop" outfit - 1 helicopter pilot outfit - 1 N.O.O.S.E. outfit (same as helicopter pilot above) - 1 paramedic outfit ================= CHANGELOG ================= First version! ================= DEPENDENCIES ================= SPARK IV for the installation. Should work on any game version as long as you have an updated version of SPARK IV. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=384933 ================= INSTALLATION & UNINSTALLATION ================= Installation 1) Open SPARK IV and Click the "GTA IV" icon in the upper left corner. Browse to this location: Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVpcmodelscdimages and look for the file: COMPONENTPEDS.IMG 2) [BZZZT BACKUP ALARM!] First you should make a backup of this file in case something goes wrong, this can be done with the "Export" button, save it anywhere. TIP! You can also backup individual textures inside the .IMG file this way. 3) Double-click the .IMG file and a list will show you all the pedestrian models in it. Look for the files named as the folders are in this release. When you find one, click "Edit". 4) Find a texture with an identical name to one in the folder in this release. [IMPORTANT!] Make sure you click/focus on the texture. Now click Import and swap it for the one in this release. 5) Click "Save & Close" when you're replaced the textures for that folder. 6) Rinse and repeat until you are satisified. 7) Click "Save" followed by "Rebuild" in SPARK IV before closing the "COMPONENTPEDS.IMG" file. Also make sure you actually do close it before starting the game, or GTA IV will have trouble loading models. ------------------------------------ Uninstallation Same procedure except replace these textures with the originals. ================= ISSUES ================= Some police emblems are mirrored and a couple of textures such as the cop traffic vest and medic outfit back have irregular patterns in some areas, planning to fix for the next version. ================= 3RD PARTY RESOURCES USED ================= Tweak ALL the peds!
